The process of building folds is hard work. Here you need patience. When constructing a drawing in tone and line, I liked working with tone more. At this stage, the most difficult is to remember to build first the big stains of shadow and light and only then move on to the small ones.
When working with different materials, I consider the most difficult and interesting option to work with charcoal, where I, without copying from life, put some spots and lines at random and only after that added retaining lines and darkened the falling shadow.
As a result, I think working on a dark background and creating light is much easier than from a white sheet to blacken.
