I threw everything away from the first sessions of the nude model drawing.
Difficulties arise literally at every stage - the construction of the form, the layout in sheet format, the beauty of the line, plastic and so on.
A few 7-10 minute sketches, in my opinion, look interesting, but I need to refine the lines and shape. It seems to me that my problem is not in the ratio of forms, but in their depiction. Although, when I tried the paper format bigger than A4, the whole form “broke”.
I compare my sketches with the sketches of an academic school and see my mistakes. Limbs, head, pelvis and joints I need to work through with more detail. Although, a lively, correctly underlined line is also important.
The movement of the body and its individual parts is not always possible for me to determine correctly or there is not enough time for it (for example, when drafting for 2-3 minutes).
I like working with soft material (coal, sanguine) because I like to “grope” the shape and volume with several approaches to the same place in the figure.
