The first project focuses on the quality of performance, demonstrating the understanding of the line. The model should be placed on a chair ... And as it turned out, the word "chair" was the key for me. My cognitive consciousness led me to all the "chairs" about which I had ever heard and which impressed me.

Joseph Kosuth impressed me many years ago with his One and Three Chairs, 1965 work. It was a coup in my closed, Russian world. I realized the spaciousness and infinity of words, visual range and thinking.

The following find "on the subject" was found in Instagram. Ernst Caramelle, an Austrian artist interested me with his work with monitors. The man was on the chair (!), And instead of the head - the TV;)

And then, according to Freud, the associative series reminded me of the words of Rosalind Krauss about Richard Serra. Transformation of space by means of TV broadcasting.

As the sum of the above, the use of ready-made has become an integral part of conceptual art. At first, I denied the use of such techniques due to academic influence, but over time I realized that technology can and should be used for the benefit of development. New technologies open up new possibilities for interpretation and vision of already familiar objects. For example, in the works, Serra and Caramelle, the monitor itself becomes a kind of instrument for seeing the world and its image. So, for example, it was with paper. When it first appeared in the 11th century, it soon replaced the animal parchment and the process of imaging, creation, and everything else also began to evolve with the new technology. So for me iPad, virtual reality glasses and social networks are modern tools for creating contemporary art.

Here for me were interesting to analyze the work of Petra Cortright and Matthew Stone. Working with the line and colors in the virtual world turned out to be multifaceted and lively. The only thing that upsets me is that these works deprive a real texture, so I started experimenting with combining computer processing and real lines.

Process of work

First there was a chair.

And the process developed in a logical way in stages.

Google search was an integral part of the process.

The search for the right image and perspective - these are the opportunities and potential about which I wrote above.

At first came the live line.

Then I combined it with a digital line, which I drew with a pencil on the iPad.

And ultimately, the image itself has completed this process. Creating thereby perspective and philosophical rhetoric - how do we see, how do we depict, and what is the real result? Of course, to supplement this work, it would be better to seat him in real time on a chair and further project his shadow and these drawings ...

Technical part

A1 sheet size - 594 x 841 mm. Charcoal, iPad drawing and projection.

I puzzled how to combine drawings. I tried to process the photo itself on the computer, but I did not like the result - there is no live vibration of the hand and movement in the automatic (computer) line.
